Pulseline

PulseLine, April 2, 2013

Dear PulseLine, are there any laws about how far you have to be from an entrance while you smoke to a public building? I know in Amherst there is but are there any laws here in Westfield? There are no state regulations re: this.  We hear there may be something in the works locally.

Hi I’m calling the PulseLine to thank the person, whoever called, about that little white painter’s truck that you saw on Bartlett Street.  It turns out there was drug activity.  I just wanted the community to know that its about time that people like that stand up for our community and act on it.  Drugs and vandalism and breaking and entering has been a problem.  I know a lot of people have been stealing stuff like jewelry, iPods, iPads and laptops and all this stuff is happening right under our noses.  They’re breaking into our cars and not caring about what kind of vicious damage they do to the children of this community who have to live with this in their homes. I was a victim last week.  It doesn’t feel too good. Your personal space is invaded and your kids no longer feel safe in their own homes.  They want to move to get away but no matter where you go stuff like this is going to happen. But if we see something like this out of the ordinary we report it. This community is where we live and we need to protect it.  Stop drug violence like what happened last week on Friday night when that gentleman was shot. Well, it’s been said, it’s going around town, that it was a drug deal gone bad. I know that this isn’t the first time things like this have happened in our community.  Open up your eyes people and see what cars or people are going in and out of somebody’s house, especially between the hours of 10 p.m – 1 a.m.  Drugs are involved almost always.  Step up and report this activity like this. That’s what we should do.  It’s the first step to cleaning up our community and saying no to drugs. I just think it was an awesome job of that person who made that phone call.  People like that need to step up more often to clean up this community and the place that we live.  We need to report it and that’s the first step of what we need to do to clean up our town.  Thank you and have a good day.

Good Morning Westfield,  Just wanted to say what a perfect day in downtown Westfield on Saturday for the Run and Fair.  The food, the music and the fantastic people.  I have so missed this since we no long have the Taste of Westfield.  The only thing that I did not enjoy as I am very afraid of large dogs it was hard for me to try and walk around.  I know that people love their pets but with this many people and so many large dogs I was afraid that something was going to happen, which it did not.  I know that I am going to get a lot of flack on this, but this is only my feeling.  I was attacked by a large dog and just seeing them make it difficult.   Again I would love to thank everyone that did come out to enjoy the day and to everyone who walked, ran and volunteered to make it a great day.  I hope that we have a great day for it next year.  I am excited about the Summer Concerts coming back and so wish that we could get the Taste of Westfield back so we can all see the new and old friend business’ that are here.  Have a great day.
