Yeah Hi PulseLine. I doubt if you PulseLine have got the spine to put this in the paper, but living in the Prospect Hill area. I thought I was getting good police protection. When I used to see a police cruiser here (I still do), about 4 or 5 times a day in the area, until I found out from a neighbor, that this police cruiser was here because the officer lives in the area and he was coming home all these times to let the dog out. Let’s see if this gets in to the paper or if we bury it. Have a good day.

Hi! For three days in a row, you people have shown young kids playing hockey on the sports page. Why don’t you take the time to find out what their names are? I think they would enjoy that. I know it’s an easy way to fill the page up is to take pictures, but take the time to get their names because with their helmets and everything, you can’t tell who they are. Just thought I’d mention it. It would make your paper more friendly and people would enjoy looking at it and reading it. Thank you. While this sounds easy it is difficult to do. Many times during a practice the players either don’t wear numbers or some players may have on the same number making recognition extremely difficult. Even during a regular season game there are times when the rosters are not filled out properly or completely and determining who’s who in a jersey very hard to ascertain. Thank you so much for enjoying our sports coverage.

Last night, there was a meeting at Gateway about the school system and how the state has cut our transportation funding and other funding… and we had asked Humason to come – of course he couldn’t be bothered – I’m sure they’re all busy calculating how much money they’re going to make, cutting our budgets up here. These hill towns are going to go broke because we can’t afford to keep paying out for a school system and having our funding cut by the state. I realize they’re all in dire straits down there and they really need a lot of money, but aren’t our children more important than their pocketbooks? They know who we are and where we live when they want our votes. Talk to you later.Interviewed yesterday, State Senator Banjamin Downing, D-Pittsfield, said, “Our frustration when we talk about local aid, too often what gets left out of that conversation is regional school transportation,” he said. “For our small towns and regional school districts that serve their kids, regional transportation is just as much local aid as is Chapter 70, Chapter 90, you name it.” Downing said that the western Mass. delegation is hoping to preserve the $19 million increase in regional transportation. “In the spirit of negotiation, there’s got to be room for give and take,” he added. “It’s the priority of the Speaker (Robert DeLeo, D-Winthrop), the incoming Governor (Charlie Baker) and the incoming Senate President, to address this problem without putting it on the backs of communities.” – Peter Francis

This is to the management of the Westfield news…thank you. As a kid my parents subscribed to the paper but in my adult life I have not been a subscriber and I want to say that I did sign up last September as we were heading into the elections so that I could learn more about those running for office and I was able to get so much more! The news you provide about my home town is way more than I knew you were doing until I subscribed. Now for those of you reading this…tell all your friends to subscribe. Times are tough for newspapers and it would be terrible if we lost this great resource that focuses primarily on our local towns. Thank you very much for the kind words. We are committed to providing the news of Westfield, Southwick and the hill towns but without subscriber and advertiser support we cannot exist.
