Pulseline

PulseLine, February 23, 2013

I read in the Monday the 18th paper that the police log about city ordinance violations of various city sidewalks not being cleared.  Well, here’s a heads up:  why is it that on East Main Street, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Westgate Plaza, etc. never clean their sidewalks? One exception is the Family Wireless store.  Good job, guys! Being a pedestrian in Westfield, it’s hard enough to get around in the winter.  If you want for people to patronize your stores, clear your walks.  Thank you.  See Carl Hartdegen’s story in today’s  edition of The Westfield News.

Well, guess what? No critical comments today. I noticed the new weathervane on top of the $500,000 clock, which I do have a problem with, but the bicycle weathervane looks absolutely terrific, brings a historical back to the city of Westfield, all in all – just looks great! Thank you a lot for whoever accomplished that.

Hi, daily reader of the Westfield News. I was reading the pulseline the other day and another reader was complaining about features in the newspaper. I’m not complaining, but the “songs that should be on every iPod” column you run every week is downright terrible. I buy the Westfield paper for local news and I feel that the iPod column and the full page NASCAR column you run just don’t make a good fit. The iPod column has been running for months…..I mean really, should that be included in a local newspaper or an entertainment blog? Thank you.  Music, as with art, may not appeal to everyone. The twice monthly “iPod” column is something different that the paper had never featured before and we run it on Thursday’s in our entertainment section at no cost to us. The NASCAR page we run comes to us in that size and we are not allowed to edit it down to a smaller size. Let’s take a poll about the NASCAR page. Please visit The Westfield News Facebook page to vote whether to keep NASCAR or remove it (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Westfield-News/115060631934881?ref=hl)
