I would like to take this opportunity to thank Westfield’s voters, and western Massachusetts voters in general for the “western victory” of Gabriel Gomez in Tuesdays special election. This election highlights the fact that eastern and western Massachusetts are two distinctly different places. I recall in my youth my parents often speaking of never realized plans to sever ties with Boston, and split the commonwealth just west of Worcester, due to Boston’s constant misuse of the western end of the commonwealth (i.e.: taking our tax money and providing us with little in return.) I recall fairly recently losing one of our western area representatives seats due to Boston’s redrawing of the district lines, thereby cheating us out of our voice and a fair representation of our end of the commonwealth in state government. Perhaps its time to reconsider going it on our own again?

I have a couple of questions. First, when are they going to pave Franklin Street up to Russell Road? It’s a nightmare. Second, when are they going to build the pavilion at the green? I thought the money was already allocated to buy the materials and the voc students were going to build it this past school year.

Hi Pulseline, I have heard that a developer from Westfield wants to turn Russell’s Mason Hall into a condo for seniors! There is also a rumor that he wants the post office parking lot and part of the Town Green! Has not Russell had enough of greedy developers? Do we want to have to go to Westfield for our mail so that he can make a buck?

Hey Westfield and Southwick and Greater Westfield Area! This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, big race will be Sunday, was the last, that’s right, the last national motocross championship to come to 338 motocross in Southwick. Never to return! Come join the party! Hope Westfield News shows up with their cameras, too. We’re going to have a great time – this is the last one. Let’s make it a good one!
