Rep. Velis’ weekly update

JOHN VELIS

JOHN VELIS

Good morning Westfield! I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a great start. Here is a quick update from the past week.

I want to start off by sincerely thanking you all for re-electing me as you State Representative this past Tuesday. It has been an honor and a pleasure to represent this great city and its wonderful people these past few years. I am humbled and appreciative of the support I have received from this community. I am excited and motivated to return to Beacon Hill and continue working hard to ensure that the citizens of Westfield have a voice in Boston. Thank you all for granting me the opportunity to continue to represent you.

As you all know, Friday was Veterans Day. As a member of the US Army Reserves and a combat veteran myself, this day holds special meaning. It is a time to stop and reflect on our great nation. It is a time to remember those who we have lost. It is a time to honor all those who serve and have served our country. I hope that everyone took some time out of their day to recognize our veterans and their service.

Friday morning, I marched in the Westfield Veterans Day Parade. In the afternoon, I headed over to the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. I was to have been asked to speak at their Veterans Day Ceremony.

The rest of the week was spent in an out of meetings. As this year winds down I am excited to start gearing up for the new legislative session in January. I can’t wait to get back to work for the City of Westfield!

That’s all for this week! As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns at [email protected] or 413-572-3920.
