Resident finds intruder in tub

WESTFIELD – City police are investigating a case in which a resident awoke to find a man in her bathtub.
City police were called to Powdermill Village Monday night when at 11:48 p.m. caller reported that she had found a man in her bathtub.
Officer Ricky Maciorowski responded to the call and reports that the resident said that she had been awakened by a noise and investigated to find a man pleasuring himself in her bathtub.
The woman said that when she reacted to his presence the intruder, who she said was an Hispanic man in his early 20s dressed in black, fled through her back door. She told Maciorowski that the man appeared to be under the influence of something.
Maciorowski reports that the man apparently gained entry via a sliding door which the resident said had not been locked.
She said she does not know the man but thinks she may have seen him sometime previously at her Union Street apartment complex.
Officers searched the complex and did not find the man but Capt. Michael McCabe said Wednesday that a suspect has been identified.
