Robert J. Killips

WESTFIELD – Robert (Sandy) J. Killips, 76, died on January 18, 2013 in his home. He was born in Westfield on September 2, 1936 to Andrew and Mary (Flanagan) Killips.
Sandy was employed as a machinist for the former Old Colony Envelope Company in Westfield for thirty years, retiring in 1993. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Westfield Sportsman’s Club where he served as a range officer for several years. He was especially proud of his family and didn’t hesitate to tell everyone he met.
Sandy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Roberta (Kratochvil) Killips who died in 1969. He is survived by his children, Andrea (Killips) York and her husband Donald York and Shelly Killips all of Westfield and a son, Daniel Killips and his wife Julie (Carocari) Killips of Overland Park, Kansas. He is the cherished grandfather of Bethany York of Springfield. Robert also leaves two brothers John (Jack) Killips of Westfield and Joe Killips of Southwick. Sandy was small in stature but mighty in determination. He will be dearly missed.
The funeral will be Monday, January 21, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home preceding the Mass.
