LONGMEADOW: Robert Thomas Sullivan, 72, (1948-2020) died Sunday, December 6, at his home. He was born in Boston, MA on July 31, 1948 to the late Robert and Rosemary (Mahoney) Sullivan. He attended Don Brosco Technical High School in Boston where he graduated with the class of 1966. After he graduated from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War. He later went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He became a millwork estimator and co-owner of Valentine Lumber Company in Springfield, MA; he later worked for A. Boilard Sons, Inc. until his retirement in 2007. In his later years he was very active in the VA community. He loved his family, summer vacations at the Cape, getaways to Florida (any beach where he could bask in the sun and be in the ocean), rooting for his teams the Boston Red Sox & New England Patriots, growing a tomato or two, the occasional trip to the casino, a lucky scratch ticket and a smooth glass of scotch.

He was immensely proud of his children. He leaves behind his daughter Heather L. Sullivan of Chicopee, his son Brian P. Sullivan and his wife Kathryn (who he thought of as a daughter) of Westfield, his former wife of 31 years Barbara Sullivan of West Springfield, his loving companion of 15 years Marcella Beane of Longmeadow, his brother Daniel Sullivan and his wife Dome of Clear Brook, VA, his sister Kathy Randazzo and her husband Richard of Boston, his loving aunts Marie Prata and Jeanne Pratt, and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
