WESTFIELD – Roger Latour, 88, died on September 10th, 2026, after a life filled with the joy of connecting with people. Roger was a friendly soul who was recognized about town by many and welcomed chatting with friends and acquaintances. He was a loving husband for 47 years to Melissa (Fee) Latour and was predeceased by his parents and beloved siblings, Norman and Leonard Latour, and sister, Anita (Latour) Hoynoski.
Roger is survived by cherished nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law, Robert Hoynoski, Sr. of Southampton, Richard Fee of Woronoco and Michael Fee and his wife, Bonnie, of Westfield. One of Roger’s favorite pastimes was having afternoon tea with cousins Jeremy and Jennifer Scanlon and Richard Loder of Westfield, while enjoying the affection of their pet companions, the incomparable canine, Bruno, and the orange tabbies, Baby Bert, Whiskey, Wee Bert, and Charlie.
Roger was born, raised, and schooled in Holyoke. His strong work ethic benefitted many businesses which included Berkshire Hathaway, The Garden Center, Anderson and Sons and Greif Brothers Corporation where he worked for 34 years.
In his early years, Roger led an active life and enjoyed fishing, ice skating, roller skating and horseback riding in addition to attending sporting events at the Valley Arena in Holyoke plus venues in Springfield, Boston and New York City. Roger appreciated the wonders and beauty of nature, going to shows and concerts, and spending time with Melissa.
A memorial observance of Roger’s life will be held at a future date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a non-profit of one’s choice or the Westfield Homeless Cat Project at 1124 East Mountain Road, Westfield, MA. The family wishes to thank the many medical providers who provided compassionate care to Roger throughout his illnesses.
