WESTFIELD—The License Commission will be holding a special meeting next week for a request for a one-day liquor license at Roots Athletic Center.
The License Commission will be holding their special meeting on Monday, Jan. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. at City Hall, according to an agenda posted on the city’s website.
The meeting will be to act upon a request to allow for a one-day wine and malt license at the Roots Athletic Center, at 181 Root Road.
An attempt to contact a representative from Roots Athletic Center for comment via a phone number listed on their website was unsuccessful Tuesday evening.
The license is being requested for the Sunday of the Super Bowl, Feb. 4, and would last from noon to midnight.
The New England Patriots will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles during the game, which will start at 6:30 p.m.
