Rosalie M. Brown

BrownR11WESTFIELD – Rosalie M. (Kaplan) Brown, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Noble Hospital at the age of 76. She was born in Holyoke to the late Anthony and Mary Kaplan.
She resided in Westfield for many years, spending winters in Ocala, FL. Rosalie was employed by the Westfield School Department as a secretary for thirteen years, retiring in 1993, and was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. She loved sewing and quilting, and used her talents to make many beautiful gifts for her family and for charity. She also enjoyed reading and attending Bingo.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Charles; four sons, Wayne of Huntington, Michael and his wife Bonnie of Sudbury, Christopher of Columbia, SC, Jeffrey and his wife Susan of Montgomery; a daughter, Cheryl Desroches and her husband Jeffrey of Chicopee; a brother, Stanley Kaplan of Worcester; and two sisters, Mary Antil of Holyoke and Dorothy Bzdafka of Cleveland. Rosalie also leaves four loving grandchildren, Crystal, Andrew, Kevin, and Natalie. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Albert Kaplan.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed at 10:00 a.m. by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield. Burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
