Sara J. Barden

WESTFIELD – Sara J. (Steins) Barden passed away on January 23, 2013 after a brief illness. Sara was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (Cowles) Steins.
Sara had spent the last 20 years in Florida with friends and family who will dearly miss her, before returning home for the final leg of her journey. Sara was a “Hilltown Girl” who lived in Russell and Blandford for many years where she was active in the Blandford Fair Association. After moving to Florida, she returned to school to become a CNA and worked in the field until she retired. Sara loved being of service and volunteered at local hospitals in Florida until her return to Massachusetts.
She is survived by her daughter, Coralee Chase of Westfield; her grandchildren, Julia, Amanda, and John Hobart of the Berkshires, as well as Christopher and Aaron Barden of Westfield, Jordan Bernaquer of Fort Myers, Florida and three great grandchildren; Kaela, Trenton, and Micah. She also leaves her sister, Beverly Sainio of Naples, FL. Sara also has nieces and nephews to remember her with a smile. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Barden; her sons, Edward Chase and Mark Barden, grandson, James Hobart and her brother, Walter Steins.
There will be a memorial service on February 2nd, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Wyben Church on Montgomery Street, Wyben, MA with a potluck (Sara loved her meals!) The meal will be first.
