Scott A. Stringham, Sr.

SANDISFIELD, MA – Scott A. Stringham Sr., 51, of Sandisfield passed away on October 21, 2012 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Born on September 9, 1961 in Mineola, NY the son of Edgar and Eileen Arthur Stringham.
He graduated from Southwick High School. Scott entered the Navy in 1980 and was honorably discharged in 1983 serving on the USS Miller as a Radio Operator. After the Navy he became a carpenter and was a self-employed contractor who owned Hammer Time Builders. He worked for Nickerson Construction Company in Torrington, CT and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 210. Scott was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling. He was an avid Giants and Yankees fan. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He leaves behind his wife the former Helen Madden whom he married on January 11, 1983. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Aja Ostrander and her husband Irving of Lee, MA and Cassie Brancato and her husband Geoff of Sandisfield, MA; a son, Scott A. Stringham Jr. of Sandisfield; four grandchildren, Courtney, Olivia and Bethany Ostrander and Lillian Brancato; five sisters, Karen Deegan of NC, Nancy Skeels of MA, Judy Bender and her husband Jerry of MA, Terri Zurawik and her husband Paul of MA, and Janet Prisco and her husband Emil of  TN along with several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Scott Stringham Sr. will be held on Friday, October 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee with the Rev. Bill Neil, pastor of The First Congregational Church in Lee, officiating. Burial will follow in Sandisfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 25th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
