2:19 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed and used radar to determine that it was traveling at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed that the operator’s license had been suspended, Joshua Garneau, 26, of 28 Guy Place, West Springfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a subsequent offense, and for speeding in violation of special regulations;
4:43 a.m.: well being check, Union Street at Eastwood Drive, a caller reports that her boyfriend exited her vehicle and said he was going to walk back to Fall River, the responding officer reports he spoke with both parties who agreed that they had been involved in a verbal altercation and the man said that as a result he left the vehicle and was going to walk home, a routine check revealed that the woman was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Sarah Marie Lacombe, 23, of 126 Union St., was arrested on the warrant, the man agreed to take the car back to the woman’s apartment and attempt to deal with their problems when the woman returns from court;
9:01 a.m.: suspicious property, Colfax Street, a caller reports a boat has been dumped on his business property, the responding officer reports the caller was provided paperwork necessary to have the boat removed;
9:33 a.m.: officer wanted, Mechanic Street, a caller reports that he has video evidence that a college aged neighbor cut down a tree on his property to fuel a campfire, the responding officer reports the caller showed him the video but ownership of the tree in question is not clear, the caller was referred to the community policing officer for the neighborhood;
10:11 a.m.: found property, a person came to the station to surrender a found motor vehicle title;
1:16 p.m.: accident, Springfield Road at East Mountain Road, multiple callers report a motor vehicle crash, the responding officer reports that an eastbound vehicle had been operating in the westbound lane before it crashed into vehicles stopped for a light in the westbound lanes, the 81-year-old operator was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Baystate Medical Center were she was admitted and reported to be in “Fair” condition Wednesday morning;
2:21 p.m.: vandalism, Main Street, a caller from a medical facility reports that the building has repeatedly been struck by paint balls, the responding officer reports that on multiple occasions paint balls have been shot at the building impacting the windows and walls, the caller said that not all the paint has been successfully removed from the brickwork;
4:15 p.m.: suspicious activity, Tin Bridge, Ponders Hollow Road, a caller reports finding what appears to be evidence of an arcane ritual on the river bank, the responding officer reports finding two dead chickens, sunflower seeds, flowers, a coconut and corn kernels wrapped in a yellow sheet;
6:57 p.m.: vandalism, Grand Street, a caller reports about 15 youths riding on bikes smashed a pumpkin against his front door and front steps, the responding officers report a search of the area did not yield any suspects;
7:44 p.m.: vandalism, Lawton Avenue, a caller reports a group of youths have strewn toilet paper around her neighbor’s yard and threw a water bottle which narrowly missed striking a window of her home, the responding officer reports a search of the area did not yield any suspects;
8:54 p.m.: vandalism, Old Holyoke Road, a caller reports a vehicle has vandalized a neighbor’s lawn, the responding officer reports the caller said that he observed a pickup truck drive on the lawn and leave visible ruts, the caller said that he followed the pickup when it left and recorded the vehicle’s registration plate number.
