KITSAP COUNTY, WASH. – This just might be the biggest moment for the Westfield Babe Ruth Baseball 13-Year-Old All-Stars.
While opening ceremonies, banquets, guest speakers – and for many, their first plane flight – have ruled the days at the World Series, the next few hours may define how long Westfield stays.
Westfield will square off against Meridian (Idaho) in a game to determine who advances past pool play. The loser is eliminated. Both teams are 1-2 in the National Division. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. Pacific Coast Time, 7 EST.
Westfield’s only two losses have come against a pair of National Division unbeatens – Waite Park (Minn.) and Bryant (Ark.). Both teams are 3-0.
Tri-Valley (Calif.) is the only unbeaten team (3-0) in the American Division.
