Shirley Weferling-Morin

SPRINGFIELD: Shirley Weferling-Morin, 86 passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at The Arbors in Westfield, with her loving family by her side. She had been a resident of the Arbors in Westfield for a year where she relocated to after being a resident of Catalpa Terrace in Springfield for 62 years. Shirley was born January 13, 1928 to Helen and Gustav Riedel of Buffalo, New York where she was raised and attended local schools there. She came to Springfield MA in 1945 where she met her first husband Erwin Weferling and married him June 28th 1947. Shirley worked for the former Carparts of Springfield, FW Sickles and Mass Mutual. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her twin brother Gustav and brother Frederick. Her first husband passed away May 11th 1983 and her second husband Ernest Morin passed away July 16th 2012. She leaves behind her beloved son Alan Weferling and his wife Elaine of Springfield and her beloved daughter Debbie Chistolini and her husband Chris of Westfield. Shirley also leaves behind her cherished and adored grandchildren whom she was very proud of. Amy Lynn Gibson RN and her husband Steven of Westfield, Officer Michael Chistolini and his wife Brittany of Essex, Vermont and Heather Nicole Chistolini of Westfield. Bringing so much joy and love to her were her 3 great – grandchildren, Ryan Chistolini age 3, and 11 month old twins Joshua and Adelynn Chistolini all of Essex, Vermont. Shirley will be remembered for her generosity and love shown to her family and friends. She enjoyed her year at the Arbors in Westfield and was so happy to be near her daughter and family. Our constant outings and visits with family kept her going strong and we were so thankful she was at her granddaughter ‘s wedding October 3rd. Mom , Grammy and Great-Grammy we will love and miss you so very much. Calling hours will be Thursday November 20th at Firtion Adams Funeral Home 76 Broad Street Westfield from 5-8. Funeral services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Noble Visiting Nurse and Hospice 77 Mill Street, Suite 201, Westfield, MA. The family would like to thank Noble Visiting Nurse and especially the loving and caring staff at the Arbors who went above and beyond to help them care for Shirley during this difficult time.    Firtionadams.com
