WESTFIELD -The Batter’s Box came within one run and three outs of repeating as 14U Suburban League Softball champs, but it wasn’t meant to be.
West Springfield exploded for six runs in the seventh inning en route to a 13-7 win to sneak away with the title Thursday night at Sadie Knox.
Three players produced multi-hit efforts for West Side. Erin Gour and Emma LaPointe each had two hits to lead Batter’s Box. Bri Sulikowski homered in the fifth.
