Southwick history book preorders available now

SOUTHWICK – The Southwick 250 Committee has a last minute gift for residents, and former residents, or anyone who loves the town or history – Southwick Revisted, a book chronicling Southwick’s history.

Advance sales of Southwick Revisited, curated and narrated by historian Lee Hamberg, are now available to preorder. The book is expected to arrive from Arcadia Press in February. The 128-page book contains 209 images celebrating Southwick’s 250-year history.

Anyone who preorders the book as a holiday gift will receive a certificate for the recipient.

By purchasing the book through Southwick 250, 100% of the proceeds will go towards supporting future 250 town events.

Hamburg put labor and love into the book and the selected images.

“The photos have been carefully restored with state-of-the-art technology, and many have never been previously published,” said Hamburg. “I’ve created narration that is accurate, enjoyable and crisp, and it will greatly expand the reader’s knowledge of our Southwick heritage while triggering fond memories.”

There will be 100 copies officially numbered and signed by the author. Numbers will be assigned to the pre-purchasers starting with #8 based on when the cash or credit card confirmation is received on a first come, first serve basis. Based on pre-paid orders as of midnight Dec. 31, 2020, there will be a random drawing for two winners to move up to the #2 and #3 books.

Southwick 250 Committee members said to order quickly because supplies are limited. According to a press release, an attractive gift certificate will be sent to those ordering the book as a gift for the holidays, to be redeemed in February.

There are several options for pre-sale book packages, including a single sale with a donation of #21.99 to the Southwick Civic Fund and a gift package that includes a numbered edition signed by the author plus a 250 decal for $30.00. There is a $5 to mail a book within the United States.

The order form is available on Facebook at Celebrate Southwick 250. Payment options include cash at The Southwick Florist, checks payable to Southwick Civic Fund with Southwick 250th Celebration in memo line, pay by credit card or PayPal at SouthwickCivicFund.org using the donate button and be sure to designate Southwick 250th Celebration under “Use This Donation for,” then email the receipt and order form to [email protected].

Books will be delivered within three weeks of when the Southwick 250 Committee receives them from the printer.
