SOUTHWICK – Southwick Police are seeking assistance in identifying a person of interest in several cases of larceny and identity theft that span into Connecticut.

Sgt. Thomas Krutka said Police Officer Kelly Parks responded to a call last week at Berkshire Bank where a female attempted to cash checks that did not belong to her.

“She had an ID that matched the name on the checks, but the bank picked up on it that it wasn’t her,” he said.

Parks spent several days gathering information from other banks and police departments to obtain a photo taken from a surveillance camera at Berkshire Bank.

“We think the woman is wearing a wig in the photo,” said Krutka. “She has attempted to cash checks at Berkshire Banks in Connecticut, all the way down to Vernon, and I believe she was able to cash a few of them.”

The woman’s vehicle has Connecticut plates, but Krutka said the photo of the vehicle is not clear. Southwick Police are cooperating with Connecticut police to identify the woman.

“We are all working together,” he said.

Krutka asked that anyone who can identify this person call the Southwick Police Department’s business line at 413-569-5348, option 9. Krutka added that anyone who calls would remain anonymous.
