SOUTHWICK – Two members of the Southwick Police Department were sworn into their new positions within the department at the Southwick Town Hall on Friday afternoon.

Kevin Bishop, who has served as the Lieutenant since 2013, was promoted to Chief of Police. Having served as a member of the Southwick Police Department for over 33 years, Bishop will be taking over for David Ricardi who retired June 30 after serving as Chief since 2013.

“It’s a great honor and I’m so proud to be sworn in as police chief,” said Bishop. “I fully look forward to this next step of my career.”

Robert Landis has been the Sgt. Detective since 2013 and will now be taking Bishop’s place as Lieutenant. A 22-year member of the Southwick Police Department, Landis was promoted in late May.

Both individuals’ new positions will go into effect on Sunday, July 1.
