Therese Jeanne Madeira

WESTFIELD – Therese Jeanne (West) Madeira, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1st, 2026, at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield.

Therese was the widow of Frank (Francis) Madeira who passed away in 2012. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Rabtor) West.

Therese is survived by her five children Deborah Manos-Guletsky, John (Denise) Manos, Jeanne Manos, Ray Manos and Terry (Maureen) Manos. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Ramona Manos and son-in-law Nicholas Guletsky.

She was the loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Therese is survived by her sister Marilyn (Donald) Starzyk and her brothers Kenneth (Sonya), Hank-Harold (Ione), Nelson (Diane), Edward (Gail), Francis, James and Raymond.

She was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie Caba, Bertha Shean, Linda Santillo, Lena Royland, Alberta and Rosemary and brothers Albert, Lawrence, Donald, Thomas and David.

Also surviving her are her many cherished nieces and nephews.

Therese loved a friendly card game, a spirited game of Bingo and an occasional trip to the casino.

Prior to her retirement from Bon Ton, she could be found behind the counter at Friendly’s on Franklin Street where she enjoyed a hot fudge sundae as a daily treat.

We want to thank the caring and attentive staff of nurses and physicians at Baystate Noble Hospital, 2nd North and the nurses and physicians from Baystate Hospice.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
