Thomas E. Boyle

flagHOLYOKE: Thomas E. Boyle, age 75, (1939 – 2015) of Holyoke, died on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born in Stoneham, son of the late Michael and Florence (Scollo) Boyle and was educated in the Boston Schools. Tom was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and was employed for thirty one years as a driver for the Holyoke Soldier’s Home, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club in Springfield and American Legion Post 325 in Holyoke. Tom loved following the local sports teams, and was well known for always wearing his Irish cap. He was the widower of Brigid G. (Cullen) Boyle, who died on February 2, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Colleen B. Healy and her husband Keith of South Hadley and Theresa M. Lawry and her husband Daniel of Westfield, a daughter-in-law, Debra Boyle of Holyoke, eight grandchildren, Daniel P. Boyle, Brian T. Boyle, Brigid R. Lawry, D. Cullen Lawry, Sophie M. Lawry, and Marygrace E. Lawry, Patrick M. Healy and Maeve J. Healy; two brothers, Arthur S. Boyle and his wife Barbara of Bristol, WI and Daniel J. Boyle and his wife Ellen of NH, a brother-in-law, David Gall of Highland, IL, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Tom was predeceased by a son, Daniel A. Boyle and a sister, Christine Gall. The funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street followed by a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Church, 23 Sycamore Street. Burial will follow at 11:00 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Tom to the Holyoke Soldier’s Home Recreation Fund, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
