WESTFIELD: Thomas M. Mann, born in Springfield, MA February 13, 1942, passed away 10/21/2020 at Westfield Gardens Nursing Home of the Coronavirus. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of The Atonement in Westfield.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents J. Thomas Mann and Kathleen M. Mann.
Tom was a proud Navy Veteran who served as a Photographers Mate in Washington D.C. during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Navy, Tom worked as a photographer in New York City under Howell Conant. They were the private photographers for Princess Grace and the Royal Family of Monaco. Tom was also a highly skilled carpenter well-known throughout the area for his expertise in Post and Beam Construction.
Tom loved gardening and always had a home surrounded with flowers. He raised most of his summer vegetables which he shared with his neighbors and friends. He was a kind neighbor and went out of his way to help anyone who needed a helping hand. He leaves behind his sister Carol Moriarty of Reedville, Virginia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tom Mann will be laid to rest on November 11, 2020 at 1 PM in Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield. The family plot is adjacent to the Vocational High school. It will be a military Internment and open to any Veterans, friends and family.
