Troopers augment Marines’ toy drive

BOSTON – Massachusetts State Police troopers have for many years assisted the U. S. Marines with their Toys for Tots program to collect toys for children in need who might otherwise face a joyless holiday season and will continue their effort this year.
Members of the public are asked to bring new, unwrapped and non-violent toys to any State Police barracks for delivery to the USMC programs.
The troopers and Marines ask that the toys be appropriate for boys and girls younger than 12 years-of-age.
In addition to the collection points at the various barracks, troopers will again stage “Fill the Cruiser” events at several Toys ‘R’ Us stores in the commonwealth.
In order to allow sufficient time to organize and deliver the toys collected, the collection period will end two weeks after Thanksgiving with a Dec. 14 deadline for toy drop offs.
