Upcoming Westfield 350 fundraisers

WESTFIELD – The Westfield 350th celebration committee wants to remind area residents about two upcoming fundraisers to support the planned events recognizing the City’s 350th incorporation.

Coming up on Saturday August 11 is a unique event happening in Westfield, and quite possibly the first of its kind in Western Massachusetts, a Dinner En Blanc (dine in white).

Let’s Dine in White Tonight!” is an elegant picnic reminiscent of a bygone era where attendees dress in white and dine under white lights with an all white picnic while the location does not get disclosed until the day before the event.

The secretiveness of the event creates a buzz surrounding it with rumors and anticipation of the location circulating for the weeks leading up to the announcement.

To increase excitement and community participation, organizers of the dinner have created contests for those groups of 8-10 who book a full table. There will be awards for the best dressed tables, dinner and attire.

While the attendees provide their attire, picnic meal and table decorations, the hosts will provide the band, raffles and cash bar.

Be sure to dress in your best whites, cook up a delicious meal, pack the tablecloth and candelabra and stay tuned for the secret location on August 11th at 6:00.

Seating for the dine in white is limited so it is suggested that tickets are purchased online at www.westfield350.org as soon as possible.

The next fundraiser is a limited raffle of four box seats to the Sunday September 9 Red Sox vs Houston Astros game at the beloved and historic Fenway Park in Boston. Game time is 12n.

In an effort to offer raffle ticket buyers better odds at winning, there are only 100 tickets being sold at $10 per entry and individuals are encouraged to purchase multiple raffle tickets.

Tickets are being sold at The Westfield News offices located at 62 School St. Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm or at all events where the Westfield 350 committee has a table set up.

Organizers of Westfield’s 350 celebrations are urging you to help make this historic celebration memorable but it can’t be accomplished without the community members becoming involved.

After these two fundraisers are completed, the next event will be the big reveal of “Haunted Westfield.” Keep reading The Westfield News for details.
