
SPRINGFIELD – Vera Jane Schneeloch, 79, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 30th, 2025. She was born and educated in Springfield, a daughter of the late George R. and Edith V. (Gilpin) Schneeloch.
Jane was a retired High School English teacher at East Hartford High School serving there for over 30 years. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Westfield State University. Jane especially enjoyed travelling and visited Ireland and the British Isles and many countries in Europe. Most recently she spent a week in France just two years before her passing. Jane was a faithful and longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Springfield, serving on many committees and boards.
She leaves her brother, Bill of Westfield, MA; and four nephews, George of Somerville MA, John of Charlottesville VA, Thomas of Westfield MA, and James of Rome NY, as well as many cousins. She will be dearly missed by many, especially by her dear friend Kat – her dog.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday evening, April 7th from 5-7 p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, in Springfield.
