Vernon H. Morris

WESTFIELD – Vernon H. Morris, 84, died Sunday at home. Born and raised in Westfield he was a lifelong resident of Westfield and was a graduate of Westfield Trade High School.
He was a retired longtime Tool and Die Maker and Foreman at Vogform in West Springfield. Vernon was a
U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a plankowner on the U.S.S. Newport News. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Marine Corps League, and the American Legion Post 124, all in Westfield, and the Navy Cruiser Sailor’s Association
He leaves a son, Gary M. and his wife Nancy and their children, Allison and Lauren of Belchertown and a daughter, Joanne M. Germaine and her boyfriend Paul of Thomaston, CT; a brother, Alfred of Southwick. He was predeceased by his wife, Nowella (Launder) Morris in 2005.
Funeral services are Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street with a burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, both in Westfield. Visiting hours are Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street-Route 20, Westfield.
