Warren Brindley Baker

SOUTHWICK – Warren Brindley Baker, 97, devoted husband of 75 years to Norma (Nutbrown) Baker passed away January 7, 2023 at Baystate Noble Hospital, Westfield.
Warren was born on October 2, 1925 in Athol, Massachusetts a son of the late Alger and Daisy (Brindley) Baker. He was raised in Feeding Hills and was a resident of Southwick for 74 years. Warren joined the U.S. Navy during WWII at the age of 17, served 4 years and was honorably discharged after seeing action in the African-European and Asiatic-Pacific Campaigns. Upon his return from the war, he and Norma were married, and they raised their 3 children in Southwick, MA. He was one of the founders of the Southwick VFW Post 872. He owned and established Renwood Lumber Company and was also co-owner of the Stumble Inn, Southwick, MA. He was a member of the Southwick Congregational Church, and a 75-year member of the Elm-Belcher Masonic Lodge A.F. & A. M., Agawam.

Besides his parents, Warren was predeceased by two sisters, Janet Baker and Joann Harrington. Warren is survived by his wife, Norma and their children, Warren J. Baker, Jolene Baker, Robert Baker and his wife Audrey, 6 grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) and Chad (Katie) Hedges, Raena (Josh) Cennamo, Aaron (Yahaira), Julia, and Wyatt Baker and 6 great-grandchildren (Ashton, Taylor, Zio, Stella, Saylor and Sunday).

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Warren’s memory to: Shriners Children’s New England, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
