WESTFIELD – Department of Public Works Director David Billips announced on Friday that Wells 7 and 8, which have been approved by the Department of Environmental Protection, will start running on Monday, June 22.
“We’re testing the system, which means the water will be going into the system and will run continuously for a couple of weeks,” Billips said.
He said after a few weeks, the DEP will review more test results, and have signed off on the plan.
“The PFAS tests are all non-detect, and everything else exceeds all water quality standards. It’s as clean as all our other water sources, if not cleaner,” Billips said.
