WESTFIELD – Artist Pat Conant will display a variety of paintings at Southwick Public Library throughout the month of November.
Inspired by her travels, Conant enjoys watercolor, printmaking and acrylics, and has been a professor of art at Westfield State Universitiy for 43 years.
Conant’s love affair with art began in high school and continued at the Massachusetts College of Art. She has exhibited regionally and nationally, including exhibits with the Allied Artists of America in New York, the Society of American Graphic Artists in New York, Miami International Print Exhibition, The Philadelphia Print Club, the Albany Print Club, the Bradley Print Exhibitions in Illinois, and others.
Conant has won awards for her prints and paintings, including the DeCordova Museum Purchase Award and the Berkshire Art Association Graphics Award, among others.
Conant’s work is in the collection of the DeCordova Museum, the New York Public Library, the Library of Congress and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, as well as other institutions and private collections.
Conants said she has painted several murals, including at Westfield District Court and Baystate Medical Center.
Conant said she has painted many watercolors inspired by coastal travels and history.
“I have painted a lot of historical things,” she said.
