Westfield Gas & Electric closes drop box

WESTFIELD – Beginning Mon., April 6, the dropbox for payments at Westfield Gas & Electric’s 100 Elm St. office will be closed until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Customers are now urged to make payments on their gas, electric and internet bills online at wgeld.org or whipcityfiber.com, by phone at 413-572-0100 or by mail at P.O. Box 9189, Chelsea, MA 02150-9189.
Anyone seeking assistance making payments or setting up a payment plan can reach the WG+E Customer Service team during regular business hours at 413-572-0100.
WG+E closed its Elm Street office doors March 17, citing that these “critical decisions (were made) to best serve our customers and employees during this public health crisis.”
Appliance service, inspections, meter work, Whip City Fiber installations, and home visits in Westfield have also been temporarily suspended. The lobby at 100 Elm St. is also currently closed.
“We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this quickly changing situations,” Westfield Gas & Electric Manager Tony Contrino stated on the WG+E web site. “We wish for good health and safety for all.”
