Westfield woman arrested on assault, burglary charges

WESTFIELD- A Westfield woman was arrested and charged with burglary, assault and battery on an elderly person, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a class B drug.

Kristen Halla, 27, of 106 Feeding Hills road was arrested Monday for breaking into a Washington Street home and assaulting the homeowner by throwing her against a wall and attempting to slam her head into a stove, according to police and court records. The homeowner stated that she had never seen or met Halla before this encounter.

Officer Brenden Irujo responded to the scene to find Halla leaving the residence. Irujo placed Halla under arrest. During booking, Officer Irujo discovered a small quantity of a white rock-like substance that he believed to be crack cocaine, according to court records. Halla was arraigned in Westfield District Court on Tuesday and was held on $750 cash bail pending a February 13th pre-trial hearing.
