Squirt 3 Red 9, Amherst 5
The Westfield Squirt 3 Red team were able to hold onto their lead in the GSL league by dominating over Amherst on Sunday. The Squirt Red team scored a total of 9 goals during the 3 periods. Reid Imbriglio led the team off with the first goal of the game. During the second period, Westfield scored an impressive 6 goals, 1 by Nolan Lafayette, 1 by Brayden Munger with an assist from Sarah McMahon, 1 by Quinn O’Brien, and three by Imbriglio. Though the Amherst team provided tough competition, the wings and defense, Emerson Trzepacz, Cyler Sgroi and Spencer Roy, and Liam Barry were there to do business, making it difficult for Amherst to steal the puck. Closing out the game with his second goal was Munger. Gavin Connors had a great game in the net making many saves.

Squirt 3 Black- 10, WTM 3
Westfield Squirt 3 Black played Sunday against a WTM team that they had yet to face this season. Early on, Westfield took the play right to them with two quick first period goals from Sean Rodgers and Thatcher Berman. After WTM mounted a small comeback early in the second, Westfield responded with 7 straight goals. By the time the period ended, Quinn O’Brien and Michael Miller netted a pair each and Joey Tymeson scored his first of the season. Evan Mastroianni played another stellar game in net notching his fourth win of the season. The final score was Westfield 10, WTM 3. Squirt 3 Black return to action Saturday, December 19th against Ludlow.
Brattleboro 6, Westfield Jr. Bombers 3

On Sunday December 13th the Jr. Bombers met up with Brattleboro at Amelia Park. Brattleboro scored a quick goal to give them an early lead but Westfield battled back when Evan Michelucci scored on a pass from Sawyer King knotting the game at one. Brattleboro would score another goal before the end of the first period giving them a 2-1 edge. In the second period Westfield struck first when Paul Lawry scored on a pass from Rick Moritko tying up the score at two. Less than a minute later Brattleboro scored giving them a 3 – 2 edge. Westfield would score on a Brannon Miele breakaway goal knotting the score at three after two periods. In the third Brattleboro would score three goals giving them a 6-3 victory. Westfield played outstanding all game and Jesse Spear was phenomenal in goal for the Bombers making twenty saves.

On Saturday December 12th the Westfield Jr. Bombers played Nonotuck at Fitzpatrick Ice Arena. Evan Michelucci got the Jr. Bombers first with an early first period goal, assisted by Rick Moritko. In the mid first period Sawyer King had an unassisted goal giving the Westfield a two goal lead. Nonotuck would get on the board in the late first period cutting the Westfield lead to one; but before the period ended Paul Lawry scored an unassisted goal for the Jr. Bombers increasing number the lead to two. In the second period Nonotuck scored to cut the lead to one until Sawyer King added his second goal of the game giving Westfield a 4-2 lead. Before the period was over Nonotuck would once again cutting the Westfield lead to one. In the mid third period Sawyer King would complete the hat trick with his third goal of the game increasing the Jr. Bomber lead to two. Nonotuck would score one more goal before the end of the game, but the great defense played by Westfield secured their fifth win of the season. Jesse Spear was outstanding in net for Westfield making 10 saves.

On Saturday December 5, 2015 the Jr. Bombers met up with the Capitals for their first meeting of the season. Westfield started out strong in the first period with goals from Jesse Spear, Rick Moritko, and Paul Lawry with Brannon Miele adding an assist. The Capitals fought back and tied the score at three at the end of one. The second period was a defensive struggle with neither team able to put the puck between the pipes. In the third the Capitals struck first with two consecutive goals before Blake Cavallon took a David Forest pass and cut the lead to one. The Jr Bombers had a lot of good scoring chances in the third to tie the score put couldn’t get a shot to go. In the late third the Capitals scored sealing the victory and giving Westfield their fourth loss of the season. Westfield played solid defense the entire game and Sawyer King was great between the pipes making 11 saves.

Pioneer Valley 21, Jr. Bombers 7
Westfield Jr. Bombers took on Pioneer Valley this morning at Fitzpatrick arena. The Jr. Bombers played hard and smart, not being drawn into the physical play of their adversary, scoring 7 times. Goals were tallied by Charlie Wilson, Liam Dolan (2), Jake Millard (and an Assist), Nick LaComb(2), and Cody Bard. Sean McMahon guarded the net, fending off 55 shots on goals and showed his amazing goaltending skills. – Courtesy of Westfield Youth Hockey Association
