Saturday, December 27, 2014, Simsbury Youth Hockey Tournament, Simsbury CT
Division: Squirt 3
The Westfield Jr. Bombers Squirt 3 division traveled to Simsbury Connecticut to participate in the Simsbury Youth Hockey Association’s 26th Annual Holiday Tournament.
The Bombers went to battle with Simsbury’s 13 year old girls hockey team. Much of Simsbury’s time was spent in Bomber territory with Jack Cashman defending the net; saving 36 attempts on goal. On defense was Sara McMahon, Kailyb Santiago, Bryce Alconis, Garrett Ondrick and Ryan DeFalco, serious defensive maneuvers were in play for a majority of the game as Simsbury kept up the pressure. In the 2nd period, J.J. Fox, unassisted, made back to back goals on Simsbury to tie the game. Simsbury answered back with 2 more goals in the 3rd period. All in all the Jr. Bombers played a great game especially given they were playing a group much older than Westfield’s Squirt 3 division players.

The Jr. Bombers put up an excellent fight against Simsbury. Bombers defensive line was on fire as they answered back on nearly every attempt on goal. Jack Cashman was again between the pipes this game with 27 saves. Although Simsbury spent the majority of the game in Bomber territory, Westfield kept up the pressure.

The Jr. Bombers played their last and final game of the Simsbury Holiday Tournament.
The Jr. Bombers defensive line made quick work of the Warriors offensive line. The Warriors spent the majority of the game in Bomber territory with Westfield making 3 attempts on Connecticut’s goalie. Jack Cashman tended the net with an astonishing 40 saves, great job Jack! Sean Rodgers and Ryan DeFalco exhibited excellent passing and team work during the game as well. Byrce Alconis made an excellent attempt on goal in the 2nd period but it fell just a little short of the net.
After three games and the Jr. Bombers first tournament together as a team, everyone should be very proud. Jack Cashman, Bryce Alconis, Sara McMahon, Case Viamari, Michael Miller, Garrett Ondrick, Nolan Lafayette, Sean Rodgers, Ryan Rodgers, Spencer Roy, Ryan DeFalco, John Lacey, J.J Fox, Mason Garrity, Kailyb Santiago and Reid Imbriglio worked very hard and brought 110 percent to the ice every game. – Courtesy of Westfield Youth Hockey
