The long awaited Fire and Ice tournament finally arrived. Westfield Jr. Bombers Squirt 3 division went to battle with the Hopkinton Demons for a final score of 4-0, in favor of Hopkinton.
Jack Cashman played between the pipes with 34 saves. A total of 7 attempts were made by Westfield on the Demon’s goal tender. The game puck was awarded to Sean Rodgers and player of the game was awarded to Jack Cashman. The Jr. Bombers have been focused on building teamwork and passing skills these last few weeks. Everyone played a great game.

The second day of tournament and the Westfield Jr. Bombers are ready for battle! Jack Cashman is back in the net this afternoon with a total of 24 saves. In the 1st period several attempts on goal were made but it wasn’t until the 2nd period when Westfield lit up the ice. The first goal was fired into Martha’s Vineyard’s net by John Lacey with the assist by J.J. Fox at the 5:54 mark. Shortly after, at the 4:34 mark, John Lacey scores again with the assist by both J.J. Fox and Reid Imbriglio, great teamwork everyone! In the 3rd period goal number three was fired into the net by J.J. Fox with the assist by Bryce Alconis. The final goal, after a dramatic breakaway, and playing defense throughout the entire game, was made unassisted by J.J. Fox. A total of 12 attempts were made on goal by Westfield, the player of the game award went to J.J. Fox and the game puck went to John Lacey. Great job everyone!

The third and final game of Fire and Ice Tournament arrived and the Jr. Bombers were ready for action! Today the Jr. Bombers went stick to stick with the well matched up Northern Rhode Island Vikings. Jack Cashman tended goal for a total of 16 saves. The Jr. Bombers did a great job defending their net; the defensive line was a force to be reckoned with, battling for the puck and keeping it out of goal. The Jr. Bomber’s offensive line spent a large amount of quality time in the Viking’s zone; Westfield kept up the pressure and used their excellent teamwork and great passing skills to their advantage. The first goal and final goal for Westfield was made unassisted by J.J. Fox in the first period with 21 seconds left on the clock. The Jr. Bombers had a total of 18 attempts made on Rhode Island’s goalie. Player of the game went to Reid Imbriglio for his sheer determination and drive he put forth during the entire game. The game puck was awarded to Kailyb Santiago for his thoughtful and quick defensive maneuvers on the Viking’s offensive line. Sara McMahon, Case Viamari, Michael Miller, Garrette Ondrick, Bryce Alconis, Nolan Lafayette, Sean Rodgers, Ryan Rodgers, Spencer Roy, Ryan DeFalco, John Lacey, Mason Garrity, J.J. Fox, Jack Cashman, Kailyb Santiago and Reid Imbriglio all played a fantastic tournament this year. Everyone put forth hard work and dedication.
