Westfield’s election results

WESTFIELD – 15,005 Westfield residents voted in the Nov. 6 State Election; 57.47% of the total of 26,110 registered voters, according to unofficial results. Early voters comprised 10% of total, with 2,500 votes cast.
Governor Charles Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito won all wards, with 11,362 total votes to Jay Gonzalez and Quentin Palfrey’s 3,109 votes.
Geoff Diehl received 7,540 votes to Elizabeth A. Warren’s 6,679 votes for U.S. Senator. Warren won the state with 60.4% of the vote to Diehl’s 36.2%, with 83% reporting, according to the Associated Press. Third party candidate Shiva Ayyadurai received 553 votes in Westfield. Diehl defeated Warren in all Westfield precincts except 2A, 2B and 3A.
U.S. Representative Richard E. Neal, who was running unopposed received 10,598 votes.
For Attorney General, Maura Healy received 8,060 votes and James R. McMahon, III, 6,531 votes.
Secretary of State William Frances Galvin received 8,405 votes to 5,378 for Anthony M. Amore, and 642 for Juan G. Sanchez, Jr.
For Treasurer, Deborah B. Goldberg received 7,558 votes, to 5,729 for Keiko M. Orrall and 804 for Jamie M. Guerin.
Auditor Suzanne M. Bump earned 7,004 votes, to 5,904 for Helen Brady, 523 for Daniel Fishman and 587 for Edward J. Stamas.
Mary E. Hurley received 8,248 votes for State Councilor to 5,064 for Mike Franco.
State Senator Donald F. Humason, Jr. who was running unopposed, received 12,235 votes.
State Representative John C. Velis, also running unopposed, received 11,672 votes. Velis, who has been on deployment in Afghanistan since June, is expected to return in December.
Anthony D. Gulluni received 11,046 votes for Hampden County District Attorney, and Laura S. Gentile received 10,448 for Hampden County Clerk of Courts.
For Hampden Register of Deeds, Marie Angelides received 7,565 votes to 6,690 for Cheryl Coakley-Rivera, however, Coakley-Rivera won the seat with 55% of the county vote.
In the Ballot questions, Westfield mirrored the state votes.
Question 1 on whether to limit nurse to patient ratio received 3,575 yes votes to 10,959 no votes.
Question 2 to create a citizens commission on limiting election spending and corporate rights won with 9,136 votes to 5,198.
Question 3 on gender identity rights also won by 8,331 votes to 6,209.
