WESTFIELD — General Manager Tom Flaherty Sr. recently announced that Westfield Gas & Electric will provide a fireworks show after the Westfield Starfires’ final game of the season at Bullens Field on Friday, Aug. 13.
“This is the wrap up for our summer celebration of five years of Whip City Fiber in Westfield. An invitation went out to all customers we serve a few months back,” he said.
The WG&E/Whip City Fiber customer appreciation night was rained out three times since it was originally scheduled earlier this summer, Flaherty noted.
“Three strikes and we’re not out yet,” he said. “We hope this will be a night to remember for all Westfield residents.”
Employees, customers and their families will enjoy the collegiate summer league baseball game, and company representatives will hand out goodies and answering questions about WG&E and Whip City Fiber services. There will be raffles to win one of five Apple TV streaming devices and a grand prize 43-inch 4K Roku TV.
The Starfires are looking to close out their season with a strong finish against the Norwich Sea Unicorns on Friday night. Gates open at 5:30 pm. WG&E and Whip City Fiber customers who signed up to attend the game will get free entry, and the first 1,000 to arrive will get a free hot dog. After the game, all guests are invited to stay for the firework spectacular sponsored by Westfield Gas & Electric and Whip City Fiber.
