CHICOPEE – The Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team shined on an otherwise dreary day to pick up a critical win, setting the stage for a big fourth quarter run.
Westfield routed Holyoke Catholic 12-3 on a rain-soaked afternoon Wednesday at Nash Field. The Bombers, who improved to 6-8, now must win four its final five games (or go 3-1-1) to qualify for the postseason.
“We played a tough schedule on purpose,” Westfield coach Paul Fenwick said. “We’re still in it. We still have a good shot.”
Mackenzie Millkan (4 goals), Brittany Hutchinson (3 goals), and Ashlee Owen (2 goals, 1 assist) contributed to Westfield’s latest victory. Bombers’ goalie Tori Meneses recorded two saves.
