WESTFIELD – Just keep swimming, just keep swimming …
Unlike Dory in Finding Nemo, the Westfield High School swim program has navigated the waters with a perfect stroke this season. On Tuesday, the Bombers boys and girls departed East Longmeadow with identical, unblemished 6-0 records.

Tommy Russell and Jaden Noel won two events apiece to lead Westfield in a road meet. Russell claimed gold in the 50 free (22.06) and 100 free (52.14); Noel took first in the 200 IM (2:09.66) and 100 backstroke (59.16).

Bonacci also recorded a personal best 1:09.90 in the 100 breaststroke race, good for second place.
Westfield’s medley relay team (Russell, Bonacci, Jack Beaulieu, Morash) won in 1:45.42, while the 200 free relay team (Beaulieu, Noel, Morash, Russell) placed first in 1:35.26).
“We had some really good swims,” said Westfield head swim coach Tom Lewis, noting the scoring difference due to East Longmeadow’s four-lane pool. “Anton Bonacci, Jaden Noel, and Tommy Rusell always perform well. Alexa Richter swam well, Lauren Nubile had a great day with a personal best in the 200 and 500, and Jordan Bannish was rock steady on the board.”
Westfield will look to extend its winning streak Friday when the Bombers welcome the Minnechaug Falcons to their home pool for a meet at 4 p.m.
