Willard E. Sienkiewicz

WESTFIELD:Willard Ernest Sienkiewicz, 89, a lifelong resident of Westfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 11, 2016. He was born in Westfield to the late Frank and Mary (Klimach) Sienkiewicz. Willard was a 1944 graduate of Westfield Trade School who was employed as an electrician at Package Machinery for 42 years, retiring in 1987. Willard was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church who served as a head usher for many years. He was a member of the International Union of Electrical Workers. Willard was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren, along with their accomplishments. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing and hunting. Willard is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sally A. (Christianson) Sienkiewicz of Westfield, his loving children, Donald F. Sienkiewicz and wife, Greta of Ludlow, Mary A. Minalga and husband, Robert of Shrewsbury, Frank F. Sienkiewicz and wife, Sandie of Topsfield, Jane M. McClure and husband, Tom of Westfield and Harry F. Sienkiewicz and Audrey Sienkiewicz of Westfield. His eleven grandchildren: Isaac, Alex, Meaghan, Sarah, Michael, Emily, Sophie, Jennie, Adam, Emma May, and Ellie were cherished blessings who enriched his life. He was predeceased by siblings: Frank, Edwin, Edward, Edna, Eleanor and Esther. The family would like to express thanks to the Noble VNA and Hospice, especially Kathy, Lisa, Eric, Peter and Kim for their loving care. Willard’s funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St. Westfield. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 14 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Firtion Adams FS 76 Broad Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Willard’s name may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 and the Noble VNA, 77 Mill St., Westfield, MA 01085.
