William H. Bush

WESTFIELD – William H. Bush, 70,(1949-2019) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, December 19, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Westfield, MA to the late Raymond C. and Bertha G. (Burl) Bush. Bill served his country with the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1969-1973, he attained the rank of MM3 and received the National Defense Service Medal. Bill has been employed for 35 years with ProAmPac (Jen-Coat) in Westfield as a machine assistant, having never stopped working. He was a Past Commander and very active life member of the American Legion Post 124 in Westfield and St. Rocco’s Club. Bill’s passion for life was evident in his love for fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. When he wasn’t hard at work, you could find him most often in New Hampshire where he spent so much time with his beloved family and friends. Short cuts, treasures on the side of the road, ice cold beer and the Legion fish fry will hold special places in our hearts because of our Captain Billy.

Bill’s wife of 49 years, Arlene A. (Janisieski) Bush passed away 4 days apart from Bill on December 23rd.  They leave their loving children, William J. Bush of Westfield, Jason M. Bush and his wife Jill of Big Rapids, MI, Joshua A. Bush and his wife Shawndy of Westfield and Nicole J. Rose and her husband David of Westfield, his sisters, Carolyn McLean and her husband Robert of The Villages, FL and Judy R. Lloyd of Springfield and his five cherished grandchildren, Kelsey, Nathan, Kevin, Tyler and Dakota.

A Funeral Home Service will be held for Bill and Arlene will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St. Agawam. Visiting hours for both Bill and Arlene will be held on Sunday from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be directed to the American Legion Post #124, Attn: House Committee Building and Maintenance Fund, 38 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
