It was another rough night on the hardwood for three local high school girls basketball teams.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Cyr, Pensivy topple Tigers
Smith Vocational 39, Westfield Technical Academy 13
Smith Voke’s Syd Cyr (14 points) and Haleigh Pensivy (12) combined to take down Westfield Tech. Tigers’ Jeika Rios finished with a team-high eight points.
Pacers ground Bombers
Chicopee 48, Westfield 38
Olivia Hadla (13 points) and Chandler Pedolzky (10) led Westfield.
Burke leads Rams in losing effort
Pioneer Valley 51, Southwick 42
Hannah Burke scored a team-high 14 points for Southwick. Rams’ Kathleen Shea and Maura Wurster finished with 12 and 10, respectively.
All three teams will attempt to right the ship when Westfield welcomes Chicopee Comp (Feb. 11), Southwick hosts Mount Greylock (Feb. 9), and the Tigers take on the Sci-Tech Cybercats (Feb. 11) at Westfield Technical Academy High School.
