WESTFIELD -Westfield State University student-athletes presented a check in the amount o $1,229 to the Cancer House of Hope during halftime of a recent basketball game.
The money was collected by student-athletes at ‘Think Pink’ games sponsored by the Westfield State varsity sports teams.
“We are very proud of what our student-athletes do to promote awareness and raise money for breast cancer,” said Bals. “Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, due to dramatic improvements in research and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer.”
