WSU women’s volleyball wastes huge lead

WESTFIELD – Keene State College rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Westfileld State University, 3-2, in Westfield’s home women’s volleyball opener yesterday.
Westfield State took the first two games, 25-19 and 25-22, and the host team led the third game, 23-21. But Keene State battled back to take the third game, 28-26, and coasted to a 25-12 victory in the fourth game. Keene edged Westfield, 15-13, in the deciding game for the come-from-behind victory.
Kaylee Deluga led the winners with nine kills, four aces, and two blocks. Angela Silveri had a team-high 11 kills and Jess Corman-Homonoff finished with nine kills. Sammy Dormio notched a match-high 32 digs.
Lindsay Rescot led Westfield with a match-high 12 kills, 16 digs, three aces and two blocks. Carolyn Cote recorded 30 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Julia Warner had nine kills.
