WESTFIELD – Zachary Zak is a Westfield native, a 2014 graduate of Westfield Technical Academy and an Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 821 out of the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish.  He is currently a Junior at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst studying to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  In addition to this impressive list, Mr. Zak can add one more accomplishment – he is an entrepreneur!

As part of his formal education as well as enriching his personal experience, he is starting his own business.  Mayor Brian Sullivan was extremely happy to be part of the formal kick-off of Mr. Zak’s venture into the business world.  On Friday, March 2nd the Mayor presented Zachary with a proclamation from the City of Westfield wishing him good fortune as he starts his house painting business under the guidance of Student Painters and Young Entrepreneurs Across America.

Zachary has taken on this project as part of his formal studies but also hopes to learn some valuable life lessons regarding the challenges of running a business.  He has recently completed training with Young Entrepreneurs Across America and his house painting business will be in full swing later this spring.
