Lancers roll past WHS

LONGMEADOW – It is a road that the Westfield High School girls’ lacrosse team would rather have traveled less.
Westfield ran into a buzzsaw against a familiar Western Massachusetts heavyweight Wednesday on the road in the Longmeadow Lancers. The Bombers fell 19-3.
Long meadow (7-2, 4-0) built a double-digit lead in the first half, knocking Westfield’s starting goaltender from in between the pipes. The Bombers persevered, and it paid off in the final minutes of the half as Grace Silva scored off a pass from Laura Paye to break up the shut out.
