We have reached the midway point in our weekly pro football contest, “Beat ‘The Putz’”. And with that, we have crowned our latest champ, Westfield resident Mark Kielbasa.
Kielbasa put together a stellar 9-2 record in Week 9 to claim a $25 gift certificate to The Tavern Restaurant. The latest champ easily surpassed my paltry 5-6 mark, and soared above every other contestant.
So just what was the secret to Kielbasa’s success in Week 9?
“Call me in Week 19 and I’ll let you know,” Kielbasa said in an exclusive interview with The Westfield News.
Despite holding his formula close to his chest, Kielbasa did offer a few words for his involvement.
“It’s a great contest,” the Week 9 winner said. “It makes all the other games enjoyable, being a Pats fan.”
Speaking of Brady’s bunch, Patriots Nation will get a chance to exact revenge on Eli Manning and the New York Giants, who ended the dreams of New Englanders twice in the Big Game.
The two teams will meet in a late afternoon kickoff Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
Don’t forget to make all your selections, and get them in the mail postmarked by Friday at 11:59 p.m. All entries received after Friday’ deadline are null and void.
Our featured Sunday night tiebreaker game is Arizona-Seattle. The combined total points of both team’s scored in that game will be used to break any tie for the weekly prize.
Don’t be discouraged if you have not claimed one of our weekly prizes. Every winner who surpasses my weekly record immediately becomes eligible for our grand prize drawing at season’s end. The winner, through a random drawing, will take home a flat-screen television, courtesy of Manny’s TV & Appliances. – CP
