Demers victorious for Saints
Renaissance 4, St. Mary 1
Jessica Demers provided St. Mary with its only win of the day, defeating Nicole Schabot at first singles, 6-0, 6-0.
“(Jessica) played very relaxed today,” St. Mary coach Frank Crosby said. “Nicole Schabot moved the ball all over the court in her efforts to score, but Demers was always there to make the return, dipping low to the ground to dig out Schabot’s top spin forehands, dashing back from di-court to recover lobs over her head. Jessica made the difficult look easy, winning in straight sets.”
