Westfield senior quarterback Mike Nihill directed the Bombers third straight win to begin the season, a 59-6 blowout of Commerce last Friday night at Bullens Field. Nihill overcame the odds and Westfield girls volleyball’s Tetyana Shvyryd, whose team is also off to a blazing start this season, in The Westfield News MVP of last week Facebook Poll.
Nihill received 81 percent of the votes to receive the weekly honors. He joins Chandler Pedolzky and Chloe Lussier as the 2018 MVP recipients.
