Angel leaves resident bloody

WESTFIELD – A young city man was touched by an angel Saturday morning and left bloody by the encounter.
City police report that a 10:16 a.m. Saturday caller reported that a male party had exited an Orange Street residence while visibly upset and bleeding from the back of his head.
Officer David Racicot responded to the call and found the 18-year-old man who said that he had been fighting with his girlfriend and when he attempted to leave he was struck in the back of his head by a blunt instrument.
The man said that an argument with his girlfriend about her children devolved into a wrestling match and said that he put the woman in a headlock in an attempt to make her stop hitting him.
Racicot next spoke with the female party who agreed that a verbal argument with her boyfriend became physical and said that the man would not leave her residence.
She said that when he turned away from her she threw an angel statuette at him.
Racicot reports that criminal complaints for assault and battery were filed against each party and the woman was also charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, an angel statuette.
The male party was transported by fire department ambulance to Noble Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident which occurred in the presence of the woman’s minor children.
